(1)Q, presented in the same way every magazine to maintain brand identity, in the top left hand corner so it gets maximum attention, the styling of Q over red but in white itself showing itself to be a some what more sophisticated magazine compared to say Kerrang
“discover great music” appearing on every issue of Q in 2011 as its slogan, showing that it offers music that I thinks is readers will enjoy and promotes maybe newer upcoming bands, this slogan is in the same style as the letter Q also white over the red square.
(2)The main sell line displaying one of the main articles in the magazine, in plain lettering so as to be easy to read yet bold enough to attract attention. "the MOST EXCITING ACTS ON EARTH" bold large in your face, it uses the text which invites people in, wants to get them to think what are they then and why are they the most exciting, the boldness and it being positioned on the left hand side of the page catches the attention of passers by, trying to almost force them to buy it as they want to find out more.
(3)Kasabian featured in bold lettering, the largest word on the page a well known band and two of the main musicians from kasabian appearing on the cover, they are easily recognized and show the genre of the music of their band; and girls who give the sex appeal that attract a wider male audience.
(4)Two puffs one displaying the content of the magazine in an advertisement sort of fashion, drawing attention to that feature of the magazine, almost out of place as it is yellow as the rest of the magazine like the majority of Q magazine which consist of only really the colours: red, black, white and some gold. The second puff showing a article inside that relates to current affairs, advertising the death of Amy Winehouse to draw more people to read as she was like my a large amount of people, in gold to suit the rest of the magazine but in a puff so not to distract from the main band picture.
(5)Another sell line involved with current affairs due to the splitting of oasis and two brother who have chosen to stay in music but take different routes, as oasis was a much loved British indie band its splitting was an event many want to know about and the new rivalry shown by the "Liam vs Noel" entices an even larger audience.
(6)The barcode, price and issue details such as date issued, a standard convention of any magazine.situated in the bottom right corner as it isn't really there to be seen by potential costumers and the smaller the price the less likely the costumer to notice and the less guilt they feel for paying the amount for the magazine as they will tend to either know the price already or only notice once at the point of paying.
The whole magazine like every copy is set on a white background for most issues, some exceptions would be issue 284; where it features artwork by Gorillaz, 288, 289 and 290 and only really featuring red, white, black and some gold in most issues.
